Background
Jason Martino has 21 years in technology, 16 of them inside managed service providers, where he moved from hands-on work into leading security and compliance. His vCISO work brings senior security leadership to companies that need it without a full-time hire.
It has taken him through audits and the requirements behind them across very different regulatory worlds: biotech companies answering to the FDA, venture capital and private equity firms, broker-dealers under SEC and FINRA oversight, and businesses working toward SOC 2 Type 2. As a company's CISO, he managed its entire SOC 2 program, so he knows the process from both the advisor's chair and the operator's.
Earlier, he built products and services that brought security operations and compliance advisory together, so a client could get the monitoring and the guidance from one place instead of stitching them together from separate vendors.
Cyber insurance and incident response are where his approach shows most plainly. He builds programs that satisfy an insurer's requirements while also reducing the chance of a cyber incident, and when one does happen, he leads the response that limits the damage. Compliance is the floor, not the finish line: the goal is a business that stays secure and resilient against the many things that can harm it.
At FyrTech
At FyrTech, Jason sets the security-first standard the whole practice runs on, and he builds the systems that let it scale. The AI engine he architects gives the firm the depth and range of a much larger provider. The Forge, the process he designed, makes the work repeatable, carrying every client from the first assessment through ongoing improvement so nothing depends on who happens to be in the room.
His security work is grounded in established frameworks like the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and the CIS Critical Security Controls, and in the controls that keep a company secure and resilient. The throughline is the same one that runs through his earlier work: the basics prevent most of the damage, so that is where he puts the effort first.
As AI moves from pilots into everyday operations, his background in both security and AI lets FyrTech advise on putting agents into production with the same rigor a strong security program has always demanded.
